Did I miss another thread on this decision?Ya --- another thread about the same thing. Can we talk about alcoholics in this one too?
It also blurs the lines in the wrong direction on 'what is a firearm' I would be real happy to see the line between "what is a rifle and what is a short barreled rifle" get a little fuzzier, but "Is a chunk of plastic the same thing as a functional firearm" strikes me as a pretty hard lineIMO this one if fresh and with a more appropriate subject title.
On topic, im not surprised on the ruling, though it basicall says BGCs are constitutional but many here feel that is just a registration scheme so its like saying its constitutional to register guns.
You can talk about alkies and M114 in this thread.Ya --- another thread about the same thing. Can we talk about alcoholics in this one too?
I would rather they leave your thread up and running. I only mentioned it in the other thread due to laziness.Did I miss another thread on this decision?
ETA: Oh found it, I must have missed it. @Moderators looks like I made a dupe, can we delete this one, please and thank you?
Or not, I have heard it both ways
Possibly, it muddys the water. My fear is that this heads down the road of requiring permits and background checks for parts and ammunition.

From Federal Firearms Act of 1938 which got replaced by GCA 1968 with significant changes. Pay special attention to "any part". It does seem like that certain politicians would like to require that all major parts be serialized to match firearms, except for springs and other consumables (think bolt assembly, barrel, upper, furniture)My fear is that this heads down the road of requiring permits and background checks for parts and ammunition.
"Hope in one hand . . . ""The Trump administration could seek to rescind the rule."
Let's hope Trump does the right thing.
Didn't read but my understanding of what constitutes a ghost gun is one part, not parts. That basically says they can regulate gun parts... from how I read it, its already hard to get repair parts in Washington
