I'm currently in the market for a scope for a sig cross rifle in .308.

I mainly plan on shooting it at ranges from a bipod. I'm thinking this will be a 600-800 yard gun with the occasional visit to 1000

I have a decent budget to spend. $1100-$1500. I'm not opposed to buying used, but I'd have to be comfortable with the condition and authenticity of the product.

Key requirements:
FFP
MRAD (EBR-7C style reticle)
50mm or 56mm objective diameter (44 and 40 don't do it for me)
tube diameter isn't a huge deal since I don't have rings or mounts yet.
Solid warranty program with the manufacturer

I currently have a Vortex Viper PST Gen II that I absolutely love on another rifle. For the Sig cross I'd like to branch out and get something slightly better.

Anyways, I figured the more input the better.

What suggestions do you have?

Do not over look Burris. I have a Veracity model in MRAD and FFP, thing is clear and rugged. Have not mounted it yet. Warranty is splendid, so others say.

Does it distort at the edges? I've heard they've had issues with that.
I have two Burris scopes but only one is in use, which is a Fullfield II long range of sort. No MRAD or FFP on this one, I consider it a typical hunting scope. I find it clear for me, the only distortion I see is the mirage from the barrel. I have not mounted the Veracity, which is supposed to be a few steps above the Fullfield II.

This has legs.

Do you like the grey color? Is it near the vortex razor coloring?

Did you previously have anything "high end"?

I found these guys a couple of years ago and really like the way they do business. I know some people like(!) to spend upwards of $3-4K but this is great glass at a distance. They have shorter range scopes but I often shoot long distance and just bought a 300 PRC so this second one will be dedicated to that one. If you have questions of them hit the CHAT button, the owners are the ones that answer. (Jon & Jon so you can't get them mixed up). There is a Tract optics Enthusiist (sic) FB page too.

People that buy/use them love them. Can't beat the quality at that price

ps-- yes, I like the Sniper Gray color. I'll get my other scope out of storage and get some pics for you (on my RPR 6.5CM)

Leupold. Night force. Trijicon. I personally am a
Big fan of the Mark 5.

Burris gets a cataract at highest magnification. Avoid.
Can't go wrong with NF NSX or ATACR but they are spendy.
Leupold Mk5... for the money, the best choice, and the lightest.
Vortex makes nice scopes but they are HEAVY.
USO, S&B, Kahles, March, and others are also very very nice but big $.
