I've shot a pile of rifles in my day but just got into my first big boy air rifle (UMAREX Gauntlet 2/ .25SL)
I've heard air rifles are hard on scopes cause of recoil. Does any know if it's the same with PCP air rifles or just the spring operating ones ?

I'm thinking about throwing an old VX-III tactical 3-10x40 on it. Kinda sentimental and world prefer not to destroy the scope even though Leupold would warranty it.
Any knowledge on this would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!

I believe all models of Vortex are rated for air rifles and some Athlon. I would reach our to Leoupold prior to mounting the VX-III on it, but then again if the reticle jars, then they are going to fix it quickly and spin it back to you in a day which has been my experience.

Just springers. PCP is normal recoil.

specific air rifle scopes lenses are glued in front and back which makes them less tolerable to break. Break barrel air guns have a forward then backward recoil. PCP air guns have (depending on caliber) have little or no recoil.
