Might compare fuel too. Depends tho, or if you all use grocery discount & such.

Pretty much the least expensive for us tho…
One of my employers pays for our membership so moot to me. If they were not paying it? Not sure I would bother to pay unless Wife wanted to. She does shop there a LOT more than me. Since I found out I could get stuff delivered free I have used them a little more often now.

Costco has Bighorn safes on sale right now. I bought one about 12 years ago on sale for $599 and it's actually been decent, never any issues. Again maybe not the best but the price included delivery so it was a good deal.

Amsec says that their data shows that the digital locks they install have less issues than dial locks. Amsec safes are top of the line by all accounts. That said, I bought my son the dial lock version and wish I hadn't. It takes 4 turns to open it. Way too much and too long to get a firearm.
my home defense weapon is in a lock box in the nightstand, I push the last button and it is open for business.. a 15 round mag in the pistol, another 15 round mag and 2 10 round mags loaded with gold dot +p handy.

Just ordered one of these. Really only needed a small lockbox for a couple rifles, and this seemed to fit the bill.
ANY safe beats no safe. Every time this comes up you get a lot of people telling all that anything short of something a bank would use is worthless. In the real world few are going to spend that kind of money for one. Another is the idea of a safe is to stop or slow down the smash and grab dopers. Another good part is any safe helps protect the owner from lawyers. If you leave your gun sitting in a closet and it gets stolen many bottom feeders will want to go after you if the gun is used in a crime. If scum had to break into a safe to get it? Makes it much harder for the bottom feeders.

My oldest safe is dial. A while back Stomper suggested a way to keep these ready. Dial in the entire combo only leaving that last turn to go. They sell these magnetic stick on motion lights that light up in red. Put one of those above the dial. As soon as I reach into the closet it lights up with red light that will not take away my night vision if the room is dark. Make that last turn and safe is open. When we are going somewhere I just give the dial a spin the other direction. Of course I always have other guns so always have something ready until I can open that safe. This works great for having the one ready access if I want one of the long guns in there.
The newer safe I bought while back in digital but came with a key to open it manually if the pad was to die. That was nice to have just in case.

I see that I what I say and do dose echo in eternity....

:p

Thanks, Alex - that basically echoes my thoughts on a gun safe.

I bought 2 12 gun liberty safes from north 40 a few years ago. On one the number 8 on keypad don't work all the time. Emailed liberty with pic of lock and serial number 3 weeks ago and heard crap from them. I did register both when new. I will have to call them.

Costco is currently selling this Sanctuary 6.0 cu ft safe for $629 in store. I picked one up yesterday. I know it isn't the best, but it's what I can afford right now. I may end up swapping the electronic keypad with something that doesn't require a battery, but that is for another day. Hope this helps someone in the market for a moderately priced safe that can handle a few long guns.
Not a safe.

It is a box that makes it easier for burglars to carry your stuff away.

This is probably 100% better than what you had before. Now do yourself a favor and find a mounting point that makes tampering difficult. In the back of a closet where a long prybar cant be used, under a staircase or built into a wall so its inconvenient to either pry or cut.
in an apartment that I could not make alterations, I bolted the safe to the inside of a closet in the end, and then put a piece of sheetrock in front of it. with clothing hanging it looked like nothing was there but slide the sheetrock out and it exposed the safe. Good Luck DR

If you need a gun in seconds, have a quick-access safe in an easily accessible place. You can set up a big safe to open reasonably fast, but they aren't well suited for that purpose. I treat big safes as storage, nothing more.

We bought a large Winchester safe from Tractor Supply less than a year ago. The digital combo quit working. We can get zero help from Tractor Supply or from whoever markets Winchester safes. Buyer beware.
I replaced my Winchester safe keypad with a rotary dial I bought from Amazon.

Costco will not let me carry a concealed gun in their store, but they sell gun safes. Seems hypocritical.

If a gun is needed in seconds, the gun needs to be on your person.

Due to liability concerns there is not a single big box store anywhere that does not have that restriction.

So, if you don't want to be asked to leave follow the simple adage of:

Concealed means concealed.

Or pretty much stop shopping pretty much everywhere.

Cheers!
