    Saw this story today. I think they should just give it to Century and have them convert it into a WASR instead...

    There are hundreds of gold plated weapons that were used by the Republican Guard during parades. AK47 variants of all shapes and sizes, as well as Iraqi made SVD variants.

    Seems odd that saddam's personal AK would not be gold plated, like most everything else he owned? :confused:

    True. Where's the paperwork or photos proving it was really his? I call BS on this one.

    Right, swoop, there was a gold one, I saw video of it. Could be the chrome one was an EDC "beater"? :)

    But seriously, a couple of crates of Iraqi made gold-plated Al Kashidas and AK's were found. Here's one.


    There was a nickel-plated one with a folding stock in with the gold ones. That might be the one they had at 'Lewis.
