S&W Model 10-8, 4 in barrel, .38 Spec help

Waiting for my 10 days to pick it up. Serial number dates it to 1980 and is in very good condition. It has a logo that appears to be laser engraved and looks like this pic. It stands for Global Defense Mgt. Not sure if this is a foreign return or what. Any info you may have would be appreciated.

A quick internet search ...
Reads as if Global Defense Management is a importer and export of firearms for military and law enforcement.
They have their own website and everything....

5 or 6 years ago I picked up a S&W Model 10-7, 38 special, 6 inch heavy barrel, with some cool funky molded grips on it. It was a former French Police issue. But I'm pretty sure S&W wheel guns were bought for service all over the world in the before times. :s0010:
