Wanting to sell my S&W 629, it has a 6" barrel, custom Herrett grips (along with the factory grips) factory box plus instructions, older safari land shoulder holster, and a $160.00 double/single action trigger job. Pistol has been been sitting in safe and taken out 3 times with less than 80 rounds fired since purchasing it new 10 years ago. $650.00 cash and it's yours. Willing to consider trade for Sig P238 or Sig P229 in 40 or 357sig. PM me if you are interested. SPF

    629 with a 6 inch barrel is a 629-6

Nope. The -6 has nothing to do with barrel length. The dash and following number relates to the generation of the revolver, -6 being the most recent. The 629-6 comes in several barrel lenghts.

Thanks, though it was the barrel length.

I got seriously cheated on some of my J frames, then! :D

If you open the cylinder, look at the inside of the frame (right under the barrel) and there should be a 629-X of some kind stamped there.
