We're is the dash number? What is pre-lock? I bought the gun around 2009

It looks like the revolver is post. It does not have the locking mechanism

The model # (-#) is located under the cylinder yoke on the frame. Swinging open the cylinder reveals the #.

The hammer lock is located on the left side directly above the cylinder (thumb) release.

Beautiful revolver! Would you be interested in trading? I've got a beautiful Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 casull (also fires 45 colt) with a 7.5 inch barrel and 57 rds of 454 casull. 45 Barnes 250gr jhp and 12 Hornady 300gr jhp bullets. The recoil with the 250gr is about the same as a 44 mag. The Hornady is noticeably more lol but hits like a freight train. It's a beautiful gun. I think the guy I got it from only fired it twice both Hornady 300 Gr which has the heavier recoil. I only put 21 rds through it so it's only been fired like 23 times. The thing is I grew up on S&Ws and I have a pistol and carbine in 44 mag so a 629 kinda makes more sense for me.
