Got mine about 3yrs ago and love it.
The model I got is the CLA , the lightest one in their line.

I'm wondering if any other members have this model or other of their gas piston AR rifles.

Mine runs like a Swiss watch, smooth and quite also alot cooler temperature wise. Typical owner up grades, stock & grip, trigger is now a SSA-E, and a Aimpoint comp M4.

I have no issues yet with carrier tilt and when I see it I will just change the buffer to an anti tilt type.

Let know what you think of yours...

Thanks

I had one for a while, the SR-556e. Great rifle, but quite heavy, and spendy for an AR, so I ended up selling it and used the money to get something lighter, plus something else. I do miss it a bit, but not so much that I'm ready to dump another $1K+ into one. They are great rifles though.

I also have the SR556E model. It is a very nice shooting gun but I am looking at getting rid of it due to the weight. I am looking at getting a Del-Ton Sport. It comes in at 5.8 pounds as compared to the Rugers' 7.5 pounds.

I also have an SR556. Best shooting AR I've ever experienced. Stays cool. Stays clean. If it was my only varmint gun, I'd do just fine.

WAYNO.

I like mine a lot I have the E model as well no issues
Heavy but a lot lighter than my 16" fal carbine.

I agree my full size FAL is heavy but love it and it's a keeper.... so I don't mind the 7.17 lbs of my CLA model.
The E model come in at 7.37 not noticeable at all.

Gas piston guns run nearly a pound more ..... be it a Daniel Defense or a ruger.

I have no plans of letting either the FAL or the SR 556 go. The Pro's are worth the Con's to me.

I have the SR556 Takedown (5924) version. I agree with the rest of you...it's a bit heavy when compared to some others but I like it a lot. It's accurate, well featured and I've never had it go wrong.

I put a Superlative Arms piston kit on my Aero Precision complete upper and it only added about 2 ounces of weight. Nowhere near a pound.

I also like the Ruger AR 556 a lot. I feel for the price it is a pretty good

@Ralgha Are you satisfied with the SA piston kit? Clamp-on or Solid gas block?

I'm quite happy with it. I got the clamp-on version, very easy to install, easy to adjust the gas, and shoots very smoothly. I've only put probably around 100 shots though it, but had no issues at all.

I'll marry your sister if you give me one.
It's was done for a purpose and that is so he had a tool he could use in an awkward social situations
The SR556E in the middle is flanked by 2 AR 556's ?
The one on the left is Franken gun but a nice rifle. It has a 18" wilde 1:8 barrel I haven't shot except to function check. Still building it. Thinking about putting a 3-9 scope on it for a bit more range.

I'm very happy with my SR-556- heavy quad rail and all.

I recently took it out for the first time to the desert- got hits on a 150 yd. target on irons. Not bad for a 50 year-old guy with bad eyes. Looking forward to seeing what this rifle will do with a good scope- thinking about a Vortex Strike Eagle.
