I have a Ruger American in 270, but the stock is really nice. Was this an after market item? I would really like to purchase a stock like that.

The stock is factory Ruger, its just a different color scheme, i cant sell it separate or i would not have rifle to sell

I think you might be right,i believe the 308 action is shorter
