One of my very favorite authors. His sometime pen name was W.E.B. Griffin.

If you read his obituary in the first link above, and have read his Brotherhood of War series, you'll recognize the names and places contained therein which were part and parcel of his assignments while serving our country.

If you like no nonsense down to earth fictional military novels you could not ask for a better writer. Some of his writing style reminds me of reading Jeff Cooper's pithy articles and books on the art of owning and using firearms.

RIP Mr. Butterworth. You made this world a bit brighter and enjoyable with your fine storytelling.
