@Bobbygun summed up my point with a perfect example of unions keeping some people on the blue team. And you seemed to agree with him. I don't give a damn what the blue team stands for today, they don't represent me and I don't vote for them. But some gun owners do. Because they have a higher priority, whatever that may be, than guns. I don't really give a damn what those priorities are, either, however I recognize they exist
I totally get what you're saying.
Myself, all CAREER politicians are garbage. I have been known to vote either way.

As far as Carter is concerned, I was born in 76, that first decade of my life is viewed in rose colored glasses. My opinion is that he was a decent enough guy, his post-political endeavors were very positive.
And living to 100! He had a good life, I doubt he wanted condolences or criticism in the end. Just a human who did what he could, no way to make everyone happy.

For the criticisms of him, his issues are probably more related to the political machine, not the man. I truly believe most people who enter politics have good intentions, but they become corrupted by the system.

I'm a Democrat, and I own two guns, soon to be four (although 3 of those will be flintlocks). I don't want to make guns illegal, but I would like to see fewer gun deaths, especially school shootings, in our country. But I can certainly understand why you said that, because pretty much all the calls to make guns illegal come from Democrats. But Dems aren't all that way. Anyway, hello fellow American and gun owner :)

Yeah except they don't support the 2A they're basically fudds
Well, that's just kind of your assumption, and you know what they say about making an assumption . . .

That you reach a conclusion based on incomplete data, prejudiced by your own beliefs and almost always biased towards whatever conclusion you've already decided you want

Use smaller words for us who dropped out of middle school

RIP former president Carter.
He was probably the worst president in my lifetime, as far as economics are concerned. The prime rate reached 18 percent, as I recall. His foreign policy weakened the U.S. standing across the globe.
He was largely successful in hiding this anti-semitic beliefs until after his single term in the oval office. However, following the release of his book 'Peace, not Apartheid' 14 staff members at his Carter Center resigned. When asked about the departure of these staff members, he replied, "well, they were Jews". He believed that Jerusalem should be considered Arab land.
His Nobel peace prize was awarded based on pure politics, which has since become the norm.
His brother Billy recieved loans from Arab leaders totalling 30 million, in today's dollars. Lunchbox joe learned much from the peanut farmer.
Carter will have some things to answer for IF he gets to stand at the pearly gates. Of course, the same is true for most of us.

Interesting . Like when Liberals said Trump was Hitler ..... good example .

To be accurate, they were mostly quoting the republicans that had worked in his administration.
Actually one of many examples . I don't mind Liberals having their say but they are not entitled to their own facts as to saying they haven't said what they said . And then still hold to the assumption that Trump is Hitler ..... talk about burning the candle from both ends . They can't rewrite history fast enough with Trump 47 coming to office .

The Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates of both parties in 1976 were veterans, Mondale was enlisted Army during, but not in Korea, Ford US Navy LCDR, WWII, Pacific, Bob Dole was a Army LT in Italy on WWII, wounded, permanently disabled, with PH and Distinguished Service Cross. Jimmy Carter was at Annapolis during WWII but served from '46 to '53, submariner, genuine Nuclear guy.

He forgave all those who skipped to Canada during Vietnam, I never forgave them or him for doing that.

I have no sympathy for draft dodgers. Especially the one about to be commander in chief again.
