Sorry, I don't consider this a credible source. More just someone that wants to put their own narrative on the situation to suit their purposes.

I lived in Wichita Falls, TX for 6 years. There was plenty of blatant racism and homophobia as well as under the surface institutional racism/sexism/homophobia. It is not a place I would EVER want to move back to. It is definitely not a place I would ever want to raise a child.

I tried watching King of the Hill but was offended by what I saw and the complete dismissal of racial and homosexual hate as well as many other Texas hidden truths. Maybe I didn't watch enough, but I doubt it. The redneck Texans that I was exposed to were nothing like KOTH.

I don't have any clue about who Jonathan Joss was and never would have had an idea of what shows he was in if it weren't for this thread. Being murdered by a homophobic neighbor in Texas and the local police not wanting to call it a hate crime does not surprise me one bit.

In Texas if you shoot "someone" in your front yard the proper response is to call the local sheriff... to help you drag the body over the front door threshold so you can claim self defense.

You don't find the source credible because it doesn't fit your biases.

Wichita Falls is hundreds of miles from San Antonio. San Antonio is a blue city and doesn't really fit the "racist homophobic redneck Texan" stereotype you're harping on.

I wasn't referring to the line. There was a linked 20+ minute video that addresses this exact question (among others).

Some of what I don't understand.
The time frame of events seems to span many months.
One assumes that the "husbands" were at the time of the fatal incident living elsewhere and returning with some regularity to (months later) check on the property and to retrieve mail that was still being delivered (?) to a vacant address (lot) that it appears "they" had no legal interest in.
So... Back to my point of question, assuming the couple (?) were not living in theys car why would (after some months) they not have submitted a change of address to the USPS?

Yeah, the whole thing has enough plot holes to make Jussie Smollett's story seem airtight by comparison. And yet there are those who see, "No reason to disbelieve 'him'."

Have you ever done that? I have and in my experience it has about an 85% +/- success rate and is very dependent on the local post office

Sincerely wish there was no loss of life because of this situation, but based on multiple reports all over various seemingly legit news sources, this situation was a pickup truck and a dog away from a country western song. (Actually, some reports indicate there were cases of dogs fighting in the neighborhood). From one article:

Joss told police that on the morning of the fire, he was using a barbecue in his living room because he did not have heat or electricity, according to the report. However, he said he turned the barbecue off before leaving the house to get lunch.​

Surprisingly, he did not die of carbon monoxide poisoning before this. Very sad for him and his loved ones; it seems there was an enormous amount of crazy attached to this neighborhood.

FYI, standard mail forwarding only lasts 12 months, so after that previous owner mail begins flooding in.
