I'ld go Springfield. I've had a few RIA, they are truly 1911 mil spec, parts interchange. The packaging and customer service at Springfield is very good. Heck get one of each!

I like the Springy for the forged frame, but these days it's almost a wash and everything I've heard on the RIA's and their customer service has been very positive.
...and they're cheaper.

Had a Charles Daly (Armscorp) and currently a SA, both good guns but the SA is the keeper. The Daly needed the extractor adjusted and the slide stop would come out of the frame regardless of where the slide was, not big problems and easy to fix but. The SA has a tight slide to frame fit only issue, it came with an 8# trigger, also easy to fix. For nearly the same money the SA is my choice : Bill :s0155:
