I have a DateJust champagne oyster that I had restored to working order 2-1/2 years ago.
It was purchased way back in 1978 for $879, and ran for about 10 years, but was never serviced (Rolex says to service them every 10 years).
It sat unused and frozen up for 30+ years. Never had the money nor motivation to get it working again.
All that changed in the spring of 2019, though. I finally got off my azz and found a Rolex dealer that could work on it.
After $1,300+ and a $100 tip to the jeweler that sent it away for me, I have a fully-functional Roli that is freakin' awesome!
This same watch retails for over $13,000 today.
I wear mine all the time now.
