Been doing some rearranging, getting rid of stuff (too much furniture) but needing a gun maintenance bench in the house.
So I had an old heavy duty entertainment center and when turned sideways I will be able to mount an an old laminated bed headboard and footer on it, lower the whole thing by about 8" or so and I have my bench!
Whatta ya think?

Its a few inches too high now for even standing use. I have a nice bar stool I was thinking of lowering it to its level for sitting use - so while not 'office desk' height I will be able to stand - or sit at the tall bar stool while at it.

Whatever works is my moto, I only please ME....

When contractors or tradesmen do work, their product quality normally must be of a standard good enough to please the customer. So when I do work for myself, I use that standard. If it pleases me, it's good enough quality.

Merry Christmas.

Looks great. Color me envious. The only places I have to clean guns is at the dining room table, or in the cold garage on a messy work bench. I have to bring everything to the dining room table and remove it when done. And it's to cold in the garage this time of year for me to enjoy being out there for the time it takes to do the work.

Yea I am in the same position. I can get a fire going in the shop stove but typically plan on several things to do to not waste the 'warmth' and usually gun cleaning isn't part of the plan.
I have a folding table on my front deck which is partially enclosed and that's where summer cleaning takes place.
I've been wanting to do this for a while and turn this room into the 'hobby room' so finally getting around to it!

That's EXACTLY what I did for many many years, I'd stoke the wood stove in the AM and had stuff lined up to do, mostly woodworking projects back in the day but reloading/gun building/maintenance have all but replaced my Man Glitter making time.;)
