LGS wanted to get rid of all the Buffalo Bullet Company product for the shelf space. Offered it to me for $1 a pound. Came out to be 300lbs. Was going to melt it all down then figured I could use some with a little work, resized them down. turned out 500 190gr. pistol slugs in 45acp ammo. The 38 caliber rifle became .358's with a gas check for a 38special. They will work fine as a light plinker load.

At one time, .329/.330 bullets where difficult to find for 8x56R Austrian Steyr. Lee came out with a push-through bullet sizer in .329/.330. I'd look for (and find) .338 jacketed bullets on sale and size those down to .330. The Lee push-through bullet sizer would do cast or jacketed bullets. 15-20 years ago, it wasn't unusual to find .338 bullets in the bargain bins.

One time, I bought an Austrian M1895 in 8x56R and it included some reloading components. There were some fancy, I think they were Nosler, solid copper bullets with a blue Teflon coating on them. These had been .338's but the previous owner had painstakingly turned them down one at a time on a lathe to .330.

Repurposing bullets is perfectly fine.
