I started painting(rattle can) and realized it was the wrong color, I set the part aside while I was looking for paint thinner(about 10mins) I put the part in a bucket and poured about a cup of paint thinner and let it sit but nothing happened. I even tried to rub it off and it takes a little more work then i anticipated.. I can't use paint stripper because I don't wanna strip the finish under the spray paint that i'm trying to remove. Heck I even tried brake cleaner and gas and still nothing.

Any other options I have? I painted a handguard if it matters.

If the undercoat is anodized don't use oven cleaner. Otherwise oven cleaner will strip off just about anything.

Thanks for the recommendations guys that paint stripper is the 💩. Anyway I redid the paint and gave it a worn look(paint came out too glossy) I think it turned out ok.
