I ask myself how this rifle could have been manufactured so long ago and still look to be in such "new" condition. It does, in fact, have tiny scratches in the wood and friction wear along where the action has been cycled, but considering it's age, the condition is outstanding. Remington made the Model 121 from 1936-1954. It developed model variations shortly after introduction, so while one became a Model 121A (in various grades, calibers and features), and another became a Model 121 S or 121 SB, this one is made early enough to receive no additional identifier. It is simply a Model 121 Fieldmaster. It has no front sight (never did) and I presume that the Redfield 4x is as old as the rifle. Very nicely matched in any case. It breaks down into "halves" for transport in a backpack or storage in confined spaces. The takedown screw can usually be operated with bare fingers, but it is slotted in case it ever gums up. The slide action will reliably feed Hyper-velocity .22 Long Rifle rounds as well as whisper-quiet .22 CB Caps. It is an excellent choice for the arsenal of any survivalist, but in this condition, it's an excellent choice for any reason to acquire a .22 rifle.
