I have a question: Do you have to register your lower receiver or AR if it was purchased FTF locally? What pieces of paper would it behoove me to have?

What about those firearms you have to fingerprint for at, say, Bi-Mart? Any private business seems to be required to register the transaction and the firearm involved.

They aren't really "registered" they are recorded into the ATF books, and they are recorded by the state when you do a background check IIRC.

An FFL is required to record ANY firearm transactions in their books, but this thread is about private party transactions.

As far as I know, those books are kept by the FFL, and not seen by the BATF unless they are audited, if this is otherwise please correct me.
