I have simple motion detection cameras, usually set for three photos for each triggering motion. This morning I checked one that had almost 5000 photos of branches moving in the wind.

I've read that some new ones have thermal-sensing motion detection to prevent that.

Why not cellular? because you don't want to pay a monthly fee? On my tactacam reveal X gen 2, it's optional to pay for cellular. The cameras work great and I love them, but haven't used anything else.
