I am going to have to replace my stolen trail cams that I used for security purposes. I have lots to learn about trail cams especially the fancier versions and wanted hear from those have a lot of experience with using them in remote areas.

First question, do most cameras have an external port to hook up a solar panel or charging cable?

Is there a method to use a solar panel charging set up on a camera that doesn't have an external charging/power port?

How do you deter people from stealing your cameras?

I put mine high up a skinny pole that no one is going to climb. I have several boxes that look like cameras but are nothing but empty boxes. It spooks people to think they are being watched. And I put some in hidden locations like bird houses. DR

I am also looking for a cheap method to add bluetooth or remote sd recording to inexpensive cameras?


Edit: maybe something like this but that adds bluetooth capability instead of cellular signal and is much cheaper.
