Rare handgun from Afganistan

My son sent this to me during his tour in Afghanistan a few years ago. Most likely a Kyber Pass product. Not many around but they did make a few. Found one appraised at $1300 in worse condition. Is a .303 caliber and have no plans to shoot it. And the little guy chained to it, unknown origin but came attached. .
