Yes, optics cut. My son just showed up with a new G19 with a solar powered optic. Now I have to have one.
Well it's pretty easy. Just pick what optic cut you want, coating, and other milling services. You pay for it and then ship your slide in. Once it's complete they ship the slide back to you. Depending on what you have done will dictate how much it costs.

If you have JagerWerks cut your slide. I recommend you get the Glock factory cut option. If you don't, you might be stuck with the inability to change to a different optic.
I had my G19 milled for a vortex with a doctor/noblex cut but now I shoot optics that require a RMR cut, and I am just screwed.
With the Glock cut you can always use different adaptor plates.

I personally disagree. The Glock cut will force you to use plates which I try to avoid. Now if you want to run multiple optics on one slide I guess it's ok. I prefer direct milled optics. Part of the reason I don't buy any Glocks with a MOS slide.

As to why a Glock 30 doesn't have market support, I don't know.

Slide milling companies I see frequently with positive reviews include Maple Leaf Firearms and Jagerwerks.

I had my Glock 48 done by Primary Machine in LA. They did an excellent job.

I'm a bit in the minority on upgrading to holographic sights on my glocks, guess a bit old school and prefer irons for keeping it simple. If you don't prefer traditional sights you may want to try ghost ring sights… your mileage may vary of course.

Skip it. A G30 is designed for conceal-ability. I have red-dots on a few firearms mostly 5" slides. They are fun for target practice. I'd never put one on a self-defense carry firearm. That's just me.
