I just bought a Savage/Stevens Security model 12ga pump shotgun.
It did not come with chokes because it's not a field gun. I just wanted to know if it's ok to shoot slugs with this gun or if the barrel will be too narrow?
It might say on the barrel what choke it has.
As a general rule you can safely shoot rifled slugs out of any fixed choke shotgun.
Whether or not the gun will shoot said slug accurately is another story ...
Most "security" type shotguns have a Cylinder or Improved Cylinder choke / bore.
Either will be fine for rifled slugs.
