Pure lead sheets from x-ray room

Woof....Almost makes me wish I cast my own. Almost.

Years ago, before I became a firearms enthusiast, I hauled a load of rubbish from a guy who was metal crafter/plater. He'd replaced a plating tank, or stripping tank, that was made of 3/8"-1/2" pure lead and about 2' cubic foot. I gave it away to fishermen that cast their own sinkers because it was only paying $.04/lb at that time.

Wonder how much radiation it soaked up over the years.

Similar to a window shade, it doesn't become sunshine just because it blocks light energy from the sun.

I melted down a couple hundred pounds a few years back, that I got from a guy who got it from the hospital where he worked.

It made some really nice ingots, but the paper and glue on it smoked pretty bad. Whoever ends up using it, I would recommend melting it down outdoors, and not somewhere that will stink out your neighbors.

What I ended up with was dead soft lead. You can tell a dead soft ingot pretty easy. They look and feel different.

Didn't click but they're selling pure lead for that?
I think spot lead is around $1/lb still?

Traded many a pile of lead shielding for fish and whiskey. If you like to breath melt it outside. Can not speak of bullets but makes great fishing weights.

I just rearranged my garage and found a bucket that I'd melted from sheets into ingots years ago. It is really soft. I put all my wheel weight ingots and pure ingots together and est that there is close to 2000lbs. That's after selling several hundred pounds last year.

You still didn't answer.. that's a scrapper's buying price or his selling? pretty simple question
