I have all the receipts for my mag purchases. But will that even matter after April 15th? Also, with no permit to purchase system, will dealers even be able to sell guns without that?

Affirmative defense is illegal under us law.
Can you provide a citation for that statement? I am unable to find one. On the other hand, there are many references on line as to how they are used.

"States can provide specialized affirmative defenses that apply only to one crime. For instance, a state's mandatory child abuse reporting law might provide an affirmative defense if the mandatory reporter knew someone else reported the abuse."

Newspapers prove nothing at all. I can take a picture with yesterday's newspaper in 15 years to spoof a previous date.
Yeah, thats why I include the receipt that shows the date the newspaper was actually purchased which is going to be a whole lot harder to fabricate.

Possession is 9/10 law. I have it, I am a law abiding person, I must have acquired it legally.
This is patently wrong. If you possess a machine gun you got legally in 1967 it may be legal if certain conditions exist. Outside of that it's not legal just because you possess it.

Another example is under WA state law it's not legal to possess a SBS. If you can show you acquired it prior to 1994 and have a stamp then it's legal but outside of that it's not, even if you acquired it legally at the time.

Affirmative defense is illegal under us law. This law will be overturned easily
Incorrect. There are many affirmative defense examples in long standing us law. For example if you shoot someone it's an affirmative defense if you can prove self defense. The bubblegumers are applying it to mag possession which is bubbleguming evil.

The entire left coast sucks. I can't wait to move to a free state.

We've let too many things that aren't normal or moral fester to become the new normal. Every abnormal group has been shoving their ideas down our throats for so long. I'm glad we finally have an administration that is rolling some of this stuff back, and pretty quickly too.

I'm not sure that's true as "affirmative defense" is written into the law. Affirmative defense means you violated the law but you had a legit reason for doing so, such as "I purchased them before the ban." But you have to prove that.

"An affirmative defense is a defense in which the defendant introduces evidence, which, if found to be credible, will negate criminal liability or civil liability, even if it is proven that the defendant committed the alleged acts. The party raising the affirmative defense has the burden of proof on establishing that it applies."

HB 3075 reads:
(5) [As of December 8, 2022, it shall be] It is an affirmative defense, as provided in ORS[166.055] 161.055, to the unlawful possession, use and transfer of a large-capacity magazine in this state by any person[, provided] that a)(A) The large-capacity magazine was owned by the person before December 8, 2022, and maintained in the person's control or possession; or[(b)] (B) The possession of a large-capacity magazine was obtained by a person who, on or after December 8, 2022, acquired possession of the large-capacity magazine by operation of law upon the death of a former owner who was in legal possession of the large-capacity magazine; etc. etc.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Prove it G man…

1. What's a newspaper supposed to prove? I have an issue of a WW2-dated Life Magazine… if I take a picture of M1 carbine mags next to it, would that somehow prove they were originally acquired in 1942? It's easy to find old periodicals from whatever date you wish.

2. The "I'm gonna be soooo compliant there's no way they'll find fault with me" attitude is pretty silly.

Agree! As long as one owns a firearm or believes in the right to own, they will find fault in something! ($%@T scumbags! )
