It's time to downsize, are Pre-ban guns still a sought after thing? What state gun enthusiast are most likely to want these? I always prefer selling locally but this might have to go on gunbroker.

There's always some weirdo that will collect certain things.

That's the rifle that got me into competing. While I appreciated it at the time, I wouldn't want one now.

HBARs don't have that much of a collectible value, regardless of which era. I do believe MD no longer allows new "preban", not since 2013

Not 100% sure on NJ, I think it's case is on state appeal?

There is no more market for pre-1994 guns, with Maryland being the last and their latest AWB closed that door.

The value of the gun is if its all original Colt, whether pre or post or ban era. If it's a "preban", what is the upper? Not many flat tops were around before the 94 AWBs. If it's an A2 upper, is the front takedown pin a larger size than normal, and the takedown pin a two piece screw type?

All original. Large pin. I'll post some pictures later.

I started collecting Colts years ago.

There's this one, reserve not met.
Yikes, I wish it was for sale LOCALLY as I would gladly offer the $600 and transfer fee.

Kinda sorta always wanted an Colt A2 Hbar Sporter but not enough go through the motions of 'bidding' on one or buying one online and going through all the shipping & such.

I REALLY blew it not too terribly many years ago when one was at a LaPine gun show for ironically, $600 and I walked away, and forgot about it. I guess I wasn't as interested as I originally thought...

Well you could always make the few hours trip up to the Dalles on the 97 edit then the 197 to get the one that @BlackdogGS is considering selling? ;)

Lower serial indeed preban, but that upper is a rare bird (big hole flat top) with an even odder railed gas block as opposed to the usual A2 triangle front sight. Is the gas block a clamp on?
I have the original front site here. I installed the gas block probably 25 years ago as I was going to use a scope.
