Hey all,

I know times are plenty crazy for everyone in our hobby, but I'm I'm trying to find a local smith who can cut and re-thread and recrown my FAL barrel from 21" to 16.5"... and doesn't have a backlog of three months plus (if possible).

Needs to be able to thread 9/6x24 lh.

Anybody able to make a recommendation?

Edit: fixed my "25" typo.

Check with Todd at Koonce Custom Gunworks in Salem.

He is a specialist machinist/gunsmith with a full machine shop.
To preserve his time, he's available only on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for calls or dropoff and pickup.

Last time I saw Todd, he still has a long back-log. The problem is Will, any gunsmith worth anything will have a back-log. I would be suspicious of any gunsmith who didn't have one...

Just as a follow up, Todd Koonce had a wait time of four week, but my time in limbo is up. Shipped the barrel out to him today and with any luck, I should soon have a much handier FAL barrel ready for my build!
