Popular Mac apps caught stealing and sharing users' browser history | TechRadar

It's emerged that a number of apps from the Mac App Store have been secretly gathering user data and uploading it to remote servers.

What's particularly worrying is that these apps, which come from a developer that claims to be 'Trend Micro, Inc.', are very popular, often appearing high in the App Store's free software charts.

Yeah....but you know that APPLE won't get it's hands dirty over this.

Just like how those social media sites take no responsibility for what happened there too.

Ya I know, but usually companies don't acknowledge it. Its become so common place they don't even try and cover it. Why? Because there is no oversight or accountability. Its like Facebook, whooops howd that happen my bad and everything goes back to the way it was. Thats the part we should have concerns about, not that it happens. The point it doesn't matter anymore when it does....
