Too true.It seems that all of my hobbies have a minimum four to five figure entry fee......
I think someone is hinting at a "mile high club" sorta thing.....We hit the range. Some days it's the shooting range, some days it's happy hour/driving range. Other activities include biking and hiking. Being on the edge of empty nesting, our focus has also been on trying new things... or old things in new places.

Too true.
But the wife enjoys most of those same hobbies, so we share the expenses. One of the lowest cost things we have started doing on occasion is day trips to unique destinations. Dee Wright Observatory was the first. Last time we went to Maryhill. The car doesn't burn too much gas and we'll have a meal somewhere along the way.
Not completely low cost, but we'll spend a day doing that for not much more than a movie where we're only there a couple of hours.
Dude you could pull sexual innuendo out of a conversation on bar soap.I think someone is hinting at a "mile high club" sorta thing.....

Sex, fine dining, building furniture.
I guess the latter two don't count as inexpensive.

Umm. Lather.
5 kids later......That sex thing will cost you. If not now, it will later!
There are no "free rides" in this life!
Well, except for maybe that one gal down in Honduras back in '86....![]()
Rookie numbers....5 kids later......
Or in reverse order ..... That is a very productive day .Sex, fine dining, building furniture.

Excellent!!! Thats a great use of time and moneyGardening. Other than the price of water in this sh!thole known as Potland, it is very inexpensive. It gets us outside enjoying the summer and is rewarding us with lots of good food.
Long-term food storage is another one. We just bought 50# of steelhead from a lady in Cascade Locks. Smoked and canned 56 half-pints, cooked and vacuum packed a dozen small fillets, smoked or cooked the trimmings and will be eating those for the next several days. At only $6/pound by buying that much we saved a bit of money and now have a couple of years worth of fish stashed.
Combining those two hobbies, we prepped the first of our tomatoes for making sauce last night, and will be canning green beans in the near future. Our seven grape plants are on their way to producing 200+ pounds of grapes again this year which will make a years worth of juice and raisins.
As a friend of mine is wont to say, "It's not a hobby if you're not spending money."It seems these days inexpensive and hobby dont go together. Please point out a few
