So I'm wanting to put together a suppressed 308. I'm looking at the new Taurus expedition 308, 16-in barrel, action based off the Remington 700. Everything stainless steel. Six groove barrel. Currently going for $571. Also looking at the Savage Axis 2 pro version in the 308. It's ?100.00 less than the Taurus. Has an 18-in barrel. It's got the same style stock and threaded barrel. UPDATE.....i went and handled the savage rifle in the store not the caliber i wanted but the same model. It feels good, finish is good. And i also chose the USA company VS the Brazil company. So i think this will be a win win for me. Thank you for the input gentlemen..

I like Savage rifles. In my experience they're exceptionally accurate for the price. Go with what you know.
I have the Savage ultra light in 30 ought 6 also mounted in a GRS by Frost stock it works really well. I'm just leery of the parts availability on a brand new rifle. Savage parts are like small block Chevys they're all over the place.
