get one you like and understand how the turrets work. in the PRS world (IIRC) vortex is in second or third place among the top shooters. get one, get range time and record all your data. then hit a match or three.

then figure out the other stuff people argue about
MOA or MILRAD
1st or 2d Focal plane (UKD vs known dist)
reticle design (something I think gets overlooked)
body tube diameter
etc etc

at the end of the day it comes down to you and how well you know and work within the limitations of your equipment

So far I am real impressed for the dough.

I recently put the Athlon Helos 8-32 on my Savage 12T in 6.5. I like it and has very clear glass. I really like the reticle and lifetime warranty. I admit, I was nervous about stepping away from the known brands but I think you get more than you pay for with the Athlon line.
