I finally was able to order an optic.

I got a Vortex Viper Red Dot 6 MOA VRD-6

I also ordered a mount - replace the rear sight and use the existing dovetail type.
I hope this will work.

Since my pistol is an M&P FS, the removal of the rear sight is non-trivial.
It can be done at home, but I'll take it to my usual gunsmith.

I'll let you know how it goes.
If you got your off amazon you got the last one:mad:
I'm wondering if anyone is using these on a Ruger MKIII for hunting

I have a Burris FastFire 2 mounted on a CZ75 P07 Duty.

I did have to replace the rear sight with a base plate http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc?productId=261

The Burris is supposed to run for 10,000 hours on one 2032 battery. So I switch it on when it goes into the holster, off, when it goes into the safe.

I need reading glasses but still have very good far distance sight. The fastfire eliminates my need for vision correction for target acquisition - moreover I see both the dot and the target crystal clear.

Just got home after first shots.

I purchased the Viper 6moa - had issues with a mount. Mostly due to my being cheap.
Returned for the Razor - so much for cheap. $400 vs 225. But I got the mount I wanted (at this time)

First Group - Out of the box Low ( I then held for higher group) then started to adjusted sights.

The big tear out is supported - I rested the pistol on the bench.

Someone asked about holsters. These are all ones I already owned and used.

Also used for comp - but doesn't hold the pistol tight enough for my preference while having to move, crawl etc.

Carry - This is a cross breed

What I found is that finding the red dot under pressure - like a timed draw - is harder than I thought it would be. I have added a small dot to the sight. Used some steel marking ink - right near the "Lock" allen. I'll see how this goes the next time I am at the range.

FYI: This sight uses a 1.5mm and a 2.5 mm allen - 1.5 for adjust. 2.5 for attaching to mount.

I am disappointed that it does not turn on faster. There is not some instant on method.

I have the 6moa - I think this was the right choice. Even out past 15m the dot only covers an 1in square. I shot out to 20m in full sun this afternoon - the dot was on at a relatively low setting and I had no trouble. Could this change depending upon angle of sun relative to sight? Not sure, I didn't try. Lots of my copetition is in the morning - 9-noon so the sun can be a factor. I shot today after lunch, sun mostly overhead.

Glad you like it. Any reason you didn't go with the vortex venom? Half the price and size and weight with a 3moa dot. I can set mine to auto on or constant on variable brightness. I also didn't have to remove my rear sight so I have suppressor height sights that are a bottom 1/3 co-witness. I have been exceptionally happy with it on my Glock 40 MOS. See my profile pic.
