Just reading due to a strike burger flippers in kali get $20 an hour now. Price of burgers is going up in kali.
Min wage here is almost $16. In this state wait staff also have to be paid that. So the result is just what anyone with a brain knew it would be. Again people need to feel pain for the choices they make or they do not learn. Problem is they feel pain and scream for the same law makers who made the mess to come save them. :s0092:

In the last 6 years fast food has at least doubled, even tripled. $5.99 for a Big Mac, $7.99 for a Grilled Sourdough at Jack in the Box. Breakfast burritos at Memo's went from $3.99 to $9.45.
In 6 years....
These changes are well documented in Google maps, under user photos, menus, people have been posting menu pictures for years, and Google time stamps them.

My pay in 6 years? Flat. Actually had to take a slight pay cut to avoid vaccine mandate at previous employer.

Paid $5.69/gal for gas at the cheap gas station yesterday.

I've seen the metrics they use to gauge inflation, total joke
Any more I "try" to not even look since I use the top grade. I suspect it will be $7 before long since they just added more tax here. I do feel bad for those who were just making it before this started. No doubt a LOT of people are making up the difference on credit now. We of course know how that will go. If there is an "upside" larger vehicle's should soon be even more of a buyers market. LOT of people will not be able to drive something that gets low MPG and had payments too. It was nice when we were looking to get a new (to us) Jeep. Suddenly there was a glut of them on the market. As I keep saying we need to feel real pain to wake some up. :(

As a young man I worked in the gas stations. Tankers came in at night and the driver would tell me to give the owner a message. " he couldn't get all the regular in the regular tank so he put 400 gals in the premium tank."

I never buy premium.

Damn, I only buy the top here because it has less of that damn alcohol in it that is yet another of the biggest frauds ever pulled on us. 🤬
It is nice to really not have to care what the stuff costs but, it does burn my butt. One upside is one co worker who has TDS in a BAD way. I make a point of driving my Jeep to work often when he is there since he knows it gets 15MPG. He seldom brings up how great Joe is any more because I kept saying "yep I sure miss that $1.50 a gallon gas too. :s0140:

"Survey says nearly 92 percent of Americans have cut spending for inflation relief"

I know I sure have. I made a decision a few months ago to cut all discretionary spending for myself, for the indefinite future. No more guns, ammo, bought lunches for work, etc.. So far I'm sticking with it pretty good, not that it's making any real difference with what I'm spending on home repairs. I am planning on going to the Albany gun show this weekend though, so I'll have to spend a little bit at least. It's too good of a show to pass up.

The gun parts industry did not get the memo about inflation. There are some fantastic deals out there right now.

If you're a saver, not a spender the inflation is good news for you as savings rates have jumped significantly.

Also gold seems to be stuck in a range so if you are worried about the US dollar failing then you can still get deals on gold.

Food deals are still out there for frugal shoppers.

It's not all bad news on the inflation front.

Worst part about inflation is your property taxes keep going up. Yall gonna see real soon what it cost for the value of your house to go up.
I'm fully aware of that. They've been jacking it up here lately. I just have a normal little house on a normal little lot in town, and property taxes are over $500 per month (6k/yr). That seems absolutely insane to me. My sister in the Midwest says our taxes are more than their entire mortage, taxes included.

My neighbor, on the other hand, thinks that taxes are cheap here. He says that his brother in Texas pays $15k/yr, so what we pay is a "bargain". :(

Enjoy:

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon Public Utilities Commission has given Portland General Electric the go-ahead to raise residential customers' rates by 17% next year.

The announcement was made by PGE on its website, where the company claims the increases are due to upgrades to their systems "during a time of development and expansion."

Starting on Jan. 1, 2024, customers can expect to start seeing the increased rates reflected on their bill.

The effect of the rate adjustment will vary, depending on how much power a particular customer uses each month.

Also seems like ODOT has stated that they're slowing down on services and maintenance because they're getting less gas tax income as (shocker) people drive less, drive more fuel efficient vehicles or go straight electric. So of course the solution they want is to increase the gas tax with inflation, add pay per mile taxes and likely more toll roads.

Add to that the lack of fees coming in from people that have just decided to let their tags expire and not renew them!
I figure it might be different in other areas of the state. But here in potland it's amazing the number of cars with expired tags. Not just the old, homeless looking, beater cars either. A LOT of fairly respectable looking cars have tags with '22 on them.
