The only houses I see being built are 3000-4000 sq' home in fancy communities out of the city. OR, condo and apartment buildings with $1300.00 600sq' studio apartments stacked everywhere with no off street parking. That kotex broad hasn't done bubblegum for working people of Oregon that need a small 1000-1500sq' home to buy.

Home construction is the business of private business not state government.

State and county governments have done their part by making it ever more difficult and expensive to develop land and build houses.

Governor should go back to servicing her girl friend and let private business build new homes without government roadblocks.

One of the big things about home ownership vs renting is it takes a judges signature to enter for a search. In a rental all it takes is a landlord with a key. Dems don't like that because they want to think what's yours is theirs.

Those people are all part of the "You will own nothing and be happy" crowd, they want 3>4 billion less people on the planet, and those left can eat bugs.
Their idea of a sustainable life is steaks, fuel, and nice houses for them, not you or I, they want the working class to abort all their babies. Why? Working class families are not only more conservative but they have more children,
The average Lib family has ~1.6 children, the average conservative family has ~2.3, as such the Libs are not reproducing enough children to replace themselves, but the conservatives are.
That's one of the reasons they don't want you to have children.
They think they're "moral" people, in truth they're the most covertly racist people around.
They have purposely placed over 80% of the abortion clinics in low-income minority neighborhoods, they can't stand the thought of blacks becoming a greater percentage of the population, but they'll gladly bring in millions from other countries to fill-up the voter rolls with people who "don't have a stake in the country", know nothings who'll vote for all the "free stuff".
They don't want you to have a vehicle, they are against private single-family homes, they want everybody to live in these "15-minute cities", and they sure don't want you to have any firearms.
The rot goes deep, children/young people are taught to hate America, record numbers/rates of high school and college students want socialism.
But too many people are too dense to see what's right before their eyes.

There was a time a few decades ago when the Left was supportive of the working middle-class and was anti-war.
That's all gone now, they've become a conglomerate of commies, socialists, freaks, alphabet people, and the just plain stupid.

Well if they actually tried to build starter homes rather than 4-5K sq' 3-car garage homes. But if you want "Affordable", read that as free/rent assisted, apartments, then come on up here to NePo as they're squeezing those things in everywhere they can. If you have a car you'll need to park it a block, or three, away as those places have very limited off-street parking.

I was at REI because I had a $100 gift card to spend and I was FLOORED by the prices. $75 flannel shirts and not even lined American made ones. Plain Indonesian made flannel for 3/4 of a c note. And even a $118 sweatshirt. Even with a $100 off coupon I still couldn't get myself to pay that much. Don't know if it's just REI, a high end outdoorsy shop normal pricing thing or inflation but holy moly. I ended up buying a knife and got a free lifetime membership. Membership comes with a 1 year return window instead of 90 days so I figured why not if it's free.
