Looks like someone used the elevator from an old marbles tang style peep sight. Was kinda looking a bit like a homebrew using the ruler keeper from a tri square until you posted the newer pics.

I would love to mount a scope but I'm perfectly content with irons. The problem is the bolt handle is completely straight and the bolt throw is straight up and back. Tried to mount something to it but the bolt is coming into contact with the scope and mount because it's straight up. There is no angle to the bolt so unless I find a mount that can go over to the left and clear what seems like a 4-6 inches of the bolt handle I can't mount a scope.

Looks like there's a Redfield receiver sight block on the gun as well. (Left edge of first photo). The slider part with the peep is readily available (or just buy an entire sight).

...unless you are dead set on replacing the original.:)

I'm not familiar with these older models and compatibility. I was curious what was on the left: I assumed it may be a mount but I'm at a loss for which Redfield model sights would fit that sight block. I'm not sure if it has to be a specific model or any model

Any idea what model of redfield sights/mounts are compatible with my red field sight block?

It looks like the vertical piece/plate is angled in this picture I found.

Also, is the bolt handle original? Other examples I've seen had turn down bolt handles.
