Had talked with a friend about the 21ft rule and just how quickly someone can run and attack someone, even someone with a gun. Here is a good example. When he is up the driveway and hnear the house the officer asks him to put down the hammer he was holding. He doesn't and begins to run at her. From the body camera she doesn't get her pistol even level before he is upon her. He hits her 4 times, so she shoots him 4 times.

Oh yeah, and he is on probation for an earlier assault. The police chief says he has been a felon since the mid-90s.......almost 30 years!! (His momma says he's a good boy)

Here is the whole clip. Not to victim shame or whatever but she definitely didn't remain cool and calm under pressure. She is lucky she didn't get it worse and didn't shoot and innocent bystander. She probably shouldn't be in this line of work, jmho.

Let him get way too close, even after asking him to "put it down"

2nd time she asked and he kept coming, should have drawn and been more ready...as well as shifting left to put more of the fence between her and the perp.

Knife or Hammer.....

PS.....

BUT, But, but.....mind you that.....even at 21 feet, it's NOT a recommendation by me, in ALL instances. You can decided, for yourself. Rrrrrrright....... Because.....not everyone is capable of being MR. INSTANT REACTION (or even MR. HONG KONG PHOOEY).

LOL.....imagine the prosecutor saying that the Perp was only 22 feet away, so he actually posed no danger. Yup....."stupid rules".

Funny how this police use of force wont make headlines in the news.
IMHO, it's because the race of the perp and the officer.....MATTERS. Not to mention that she was a she.....and a cop.

Just DEFUND THE POLICE.

Rrrrrrright......

And maybe, the Mental Health Crisis Worker should have been called. First?

Aloha, Mark

Not to pile on the Officer - I'm glad she's going to be OK - but for gosh sakes, two hands on the gun the second he steps onto the driveway and start moving laterally immediately. If he follows you, shoot him.
