Prozanski say that it will prevent felons from buying guns on Craigslist. Obviously he doesn't know Craigslist prohibits firearms and related items from being sold on their site.

UPDATE 1.09-14

FIRST GUN CONTROL BILL OF 2014 SCHEDULED - Oregon Firearms Federation

More info at the above website.

Oregon Firearms Federation
01.09.14

On Tuesday we told you that the Senate Judiciary Committee planned to
introduce a "Legislative Concept" on Friday, January 17.

This will be a "concept" that will turn into a bill to ban private transfers of firearms.
Since this has been called a "Committee Legislative Concept" it's safe to assume
they intend to turn it into a "Committee Bill." This is a bill that the "committee
" introduces instead of one or more specific legislators putting their names on it.
This is a common tactic taken when the people who want to pass something
don't want to take responsibility for it.

We have updated the alert (see it here) with easier contact info for members of
the committee and a troubling video of Republican Senator Bruce Starr discussing
his position(s) on requiring police permission before transferring a gun privately.

The Senate Judiciary Committee includes two Republicans, Betsy Close and Jeff
Kruse, who are solid pro-gun votes. It also includes three Democrats:

the Chair, Floyd Prozanski, who is most likely one of the chief architects of this
dangerous legislation,

Michael Dembrow, who is every bit as anti-gun as Jackie Dingfelder, the Senator
he replaced when she resigned, and...

Arnie Roblan. Before leaving the House and joining the Senate, Roblan tended to
vote pro-gun. As a Senator however, he supported every anti-gun bill that came
to his committee last year, after assuring us he would oppose any bill that served
no purpose other than window dressing. Obviously, he was not telling the truth.

Please contact the members of the committee and make your feelings known.
In addition to the quick reference email we have added a suggested cut and paste
message that you can use or modify to suit your style. Please act now. Here is
the link for the alert one more time.

On another note, the folks who brought you last year's incredibly successful pro-gun
rally are having another one on Jan. 19 at noon on the Capitol steps. We'll be there,
we hope you will too.

No, if he said Armslist, it would not make his argument valid. The point is that he speaks without being fully informed. Also regarding the sales which were denied because of the background check how many were actual felons who were trying to purchase a firearm? How many of those felons were prosecuted? Why not enforce current laws?

Oregon: Interim Senate Judiciary Committee to Introduce Legislative Concept Relating to Private Firearms Sales

http://www.nraila.org/legislation/state-legislation/2014/1/oregon-interim-senate-judiciary-committee-to-introduce-legislative-concept-relating-to-private-firearms-sales.aspx

Posted on January 10, 2014

On Friday, January 17, the Oregon Senate Interim Committee on Judiciary is scheduled to meet at 2:00 p.m. in Hearing Room F and discuss upcoming legislation for the 2014 session. On their committee work session agenda, scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., is Legislative Concept 154. While the language for LC 154 has not yet been released, reports indicate that this bill will be similar to Senate Bill 700 from the 2013 legislative session. SB 700 sought to criminalize otherwise lawful firearm transfers that don't require a background check. Your NRA-ILA will continue to track this legislation and provide more information as it becomes available.

Members are urged to contact their state legislators and politely ask them to oppose any legislation that would infringe on the rights of Oregon citizens to keep and bear arms.

Contact information for your state legislators can be found by entering your address here.

So if he'd said "Armslist" his argument would be valid?

THEIR ARGUEMENT IS NOT VALID UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
LAWS ALREADY EXIST !
YOU COMMIT A CRIME IF YOU SELL TO A NON ALLOWED PERSON.
NO MORE ARE NECESSARY AND YES I AM YELLING !

Eugene senator pursuing gun bill | Local News | The Register-Guard | Eugene, Oregon

Yep, it's Prozanski. and:
"he has assurances from Senate President Peter Courtney, a Salem Democrat, that if the judiciary committee approves the bill, it will at least get the up-or-down Senate floor vote that it didn’t get last year"

No he said they will have to go one record with their vote as an intimidation.
We must begin putting lumps on their heads now to stop this cold in it's tracks !!!!!!!!!

Prozanski say that it will prevent felons from buying guns on Craigslist. Obviously he doesn't know Craigslist prohibits firearms and related items from being sold on their site.

There is nothing that will stop felons from buying or stealing guns. The black market will only grow the thefts will increase. ALL POLITICAL CONRTOL BULLCRAP.

Sen Arnie Roblan is probably the best bet to get the three votes needed to keep it from going any farther than the committee. Does anyone know what the reaction of his voters were?
