It's that time again folks! I'm happy to announce the NWFA Supporting Member Giveaway #4, April 14th, 2010.
Again, these last couple months have been rough for us as far as donations vs expenses due to all this growth (we've had to upgrade the server 3 times). My intention was to do these drawings every quarter, but it seems as though they're going to happen when we can swing them until we get some of the larger advertisers on board and/or our donations increase.
For those of you who didn't read the fine print when you donated, as a show of appreciation we're holding giveaway drawings for our Supporting Members. The quality of the item given away depends on the amount of donations we've received in the previous months. If you're not sure how to become a Supporting Member, click the " <broken link removed> " link up above or in this post. You need not do anything to participate in this drawing, the names of all Supporting Members will be automatically entered. The number of 'entries' in the drawing depends on the level of your membership(s):
Bronze - 1 Entry
Charter - 2 Entries
Silver - 2 Entries
Gold - 3 Entries
Platinum - 5 Entries
If you have multiple Supporting Memberships, your entries do combine. So, for example, a member with both Platinum and Silver Memberships would receive 7 entries total. For any of you who are looking to stack the odds in your favor, it is not possible to have two of the same membership
Moderators, Administrators, Supporting Vendors, and members who have won an item in the past three drawing are ineligible for these giveaways.
The drawing will be held the evening of April 14th, 2010. Names will be put into a hat and one will be drawn at random by JennyC. If for some reason you wish to opt out of this drawing, please let me know.
For this drawing we'll be giving away one of the nicest Mosin Nagant 91/30 I've ever seen. Included are all the accessories, such as the bayonet, sling, oil bottle, etc. For those of you not familiar with the Mosin Nagant 91/30, here's a short description:
Once again, the rifle will be purchased through Andrew Ortwein of Ortwein International (coctailer on the board). For those of you local to Portland/Vancouver, you'll be able to pick it up directly from him and your transfer fee will also be taken care of. For those of you elsewhere in the Northwest, NWFA will be covering shipping costs to your FFL and $10 of the transfer cost.
Thanks again to all of you who make this site possible. Cheers and good luck!

The MosinNagant (Russian: Винтовка Мосина, ISO 9: Vintovka Mosina) is a bolt-action, internal magazine fed, military rifle that was used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations, most of them from Eastern bloc. It gets its name from the Russian Artillery Colonel Sergei Ivanovich Mosin who designed the bolt and receiver, and the Belgian Emile Nagant, who designed the magazine system. His brother, Leon Nagant, was a rifle designer.[1] Also known as the Three-Line Rifle (Трёхлинейная винтовка, ISO 9: Trëhlinejnaâ vintovka), in reference to the 7.62 mm calibre, it was the first to use the 7.62x54mmR cartridge.
As a front-line rifle, the MosinNagant served in various forms from 1891 until the 1960s in many Eastern European nations, when the sniper rifle variant was replaced by the SVD (Снайперская винтовка Драгунова, ISO 9: Snajperskaâ vintovka Dragunova). The MosinNagant is still used in many conflicts due to its ruggedness and the vast number produced.
