Norwegian Battle Ready Helo flew Over Us Today

Today at work in Newport right after lunch 3 of us witnessed a Norwegian flagged Blackhawk Helo with rocket pods on both sides flew over at about 300' agl headed slowly south. What the heck? Something going on I haven't heard about?

Hm. My quick research says Norway operates NH-90s from Airbus/Konstadt for their militaries, versus Sikorsky's Seahawk/Blackhawk/S-72s. However the Chinese have made a copy of the S-72 as the Z-20.

Are you sure it had this roundel on the sides?

The Royal Australian Navy uses MH-60R Romeos in addition to the SH-60 Seahawks. They do look similar to the NH90s of the Norwegians. But have significant differences in fuselage shaping and equipment.

The roundel I posted is the current Royal Norwegian military roundel for their Air Force and Naval Air forces; so if its not what you saw but the Norwegian Flag rectangles.. might not even be Norwegian?
