Today at work in Newport right after lunch 3 of us witnessed a Norwegian flagged Blackhawk Helo with rocket pods on both sides flew over at about 300' agl headed slowly south. What the heck? Something going on I haven't heard about?

Maybe they're doing special operations in the area.

Yeah.....Red Dawn

So then.....
If the markings were Russian or Chinese (Or more correctly N.Korean). Is that an automatic clearance to open fire?

Could it have been a NH90 (easily recognized by the disk) practicing casting for an upcoming fishing trip in the North Sea?

Hm. My quick research says Norway operates NH-90s from Airbus/Konstadt for their militaries, versus Sikorsky's Seahawk/Blackhawk/S-72s. However the Chinese have made a copy of the S-72 as the Z-20.

Are you sure it had this roundel on the sides?
