Eating at a sit down place is pricey these days. For those who can afford it? Great. Unless you are going to VERY nice places anyone can make a meal at home that rivals what you are going to get but, some times its just nice to go out. Certainly "should" not be hard to not do so assuming you have a roof over your head. Certainly can eat at home FAR cheaper than going to any decent eatery.

It sounds like something the leftist commies want you to do to make sure the right-wing-nut small business owners go out of business.

My wife eats out almost everyday, sometimes twice a day. It's a miracle she doesn't get sick more often.
She probably has an enhanced immune system. When people go to other counties they often get sick eating the same food the locals are eating every day. I RARELY get sick but, I work in health care. I tell those I work with we get a great immune system working there. Every day we are around a LOT of sick people.

Try that search in incognito mode.

Not a scientific process, but this is what was returned for ... "No Restaurant February" ...(exact wording)

Top Result in DDG, Google, Bing & Mojeek using FireFox and Brave on a machine running Ubuntu Operating System. All using Private Settings.

Fourth Result in DDG Private Settings, on a machine running Winblows. I didn't try Bing on this machine.

Neither of machines has ever accessed NorthWest Firearms, and I didn't use a VPN for the search.

I hope the search companies don't send me a bill :)

I agree with this. Since awhile now, I am pretty turned off by eating out in general. Between the ridiculous cost of a meal, (at most places.. and i do understand that cost and wages have all gone up) the service, (or lack there of) and the expected tip, rather than based on performance.. I'm happier eating at home! The view at home is better anyway..

YES YOU DO! :D

I'm chief cook and bottle washer, don't work any more. Been the cook for us for ever. Wifey is a great worker, not so much "Cooker". Not being able to smell/taste anything causes a disconnect of some kind that makes it very difficult to come up with meals. And the enjoyment of making/serving/eating has waned. Going out to eat without having to do anything is like a mini vacation. So satisfying!

I have the ability to create restaurant quality food (better in most cases), but I don't always WANT to, especially during the week when I have other things to do. I still enjoy getting food from a good place, most often take-out.

I used to use Grubhub, but holy hell their fees are getting stupid. For one person, a $20+ upcharge (fees + driver tip) are equal or more than the actual food. I prefer to place an order online with the restaurant and pick it up myself.

It is expensive, so it's not something done super frequently, probably twice a month or so with a local, family owned places. I rarely eat at any chains, other than Taco Time when I just want a cheap-ish junk-food taco! (I often replicate those on my own at home as well.)

I'm sure a romantic, home cooked gourmet dinner on the 14th was already a key moment in this plan.

No possible way that Valentine's day ( on a Friday, no less) was overlooked .
So what are you making for your partner?

Hopefully, we'll go out.
Usually seafood. I like Bridgewater, but maybe try one of the other options over the river.

If i cook it will be rib steaks and king crab legs.
There's not a lot of culinary options in the Roseburg metropolitan area, but I cook better than what you can get at a restaurant.

Before the pandemic we used to eat out a lot. Then fell out of the habit. In recent memory, it is the rare exception that we do so now. Honestly, don't miss it at all; better for the health, better for the budget. To each their own.

Wife and I are going out for lunch today. One of the seldom happens times we both have a day off at the same time. Could we make food at home just as good and FAR cheaper? Hell yes. Its just nice to now and then go out and eat where someone else has to clean up the mess and we just walk away :s0140:
