Edit: I am working on paying off debt and I don't work at a restaurant. The least I can do, is follow this one piece of Dave's advice for one month out of the year. It could be life changing.

I am glad to see members here supporting small businesses like fast food franchisees. Over on the fast food price thread the franchisees small businesses are demonized up one side and down the other.

I am also glad to not hear, in this thread, about minimum wage levels being the problem here. We finally recognize that small business owners exist to maximize profits, not provide charity.

Nothing against small businesses, so I don't "boycott" them per se.
But, the prices the last 5 years have been on a meteoric rise.

We were just offered a 2% COLA at work. Meanwhile, my local favorite coffee stand just increased their prices 30% across the board, which adds $1.50 to my usual drink.
Remember that traditional tipping etiquette is a % of the bill, so it goes up all the way around.

I'm not boycotting, I'd say I'm no longer "justifying". Once I get a 30% pay raise, I'll be back to my pre-2019 habits.
