On a serious note, just because a popular or similar designed gun is discontinued doesn't mean it's values will go up. See S&W Sigma series

This is no doubt true but all it takes is for Glock to 'create the illusion' their new models are designed so they CANNOT accept the 'Glock switch' but with the infantile 'wisdom' (or lack thereof) with a large number of gun owners they are EASILY convinced the previous models are going to turn to gold and therefore the 'runs' on them already mentioned at the LGSs.On a serious note, just because a popular or similar designed gun is discontinued doesn't mean it's values will go up.
The Sigma was popular? On a serious note, just because a popular or similar designed gun is discontinued doesn't mean it's values will go up. See S&W Sigma series![]()
I'd sell all mine if the price was right. I have no problem switching to a different platform. I have no emotional attachment to one company over another. Plenty of other good guns out there. But I doubt the market will bump up to make selling worth it. So for the meantime I'll continue to carry Glock. This is no doubt true but all it takes is for Glock to 'create the illusion' their new models are designed so they CANNOT accept the 'Glock switch' but with the infantile 'wisdom' (or lack thereof) with a large number of gun owners they are EASILY convinced the previous models are going to turn to gold and therefore the 'runs' on them already mentioned at the LGSs.
NOW - if they start selling for incredibly stupid prices on the private market I would say to anyone who owns one to sell it and reap the benefit while then 'scalping' is happening because like a lot of things it will not last and the prices will drop and we will hear whiners who bought them for WAY TOO MUCH crying about it.
This is an 'old' story in the 'gun world' and we have seen it many times with ammo, reloading components, and other guns as well.
The idiocy of it sometimes is/was hard to comprehend over the years reading what some 'paranoid' people were 'resorting' to and reporting what they were paying for things.
It was relatively popular for being a cheap knockoff of Glock, enough so that Glock sued S&W for itThe Sigma was popular?
Oh man, I just threw up a little in my throat....Let's not...

I wonder how this is going to affect the Gen 3 clone makers? I may get another RXM just for parts because they are so cheaply priced.Glock cares only about their bottom line and reputation. The American 2A means very little to an Austrian company.
Last I read, I think New Jersey and Illinois are both suing Glock over the ability to accept Switches?
I think clone makers like Ruger will just tell states like CA to F off and just not sell their products there. This whole thing is stupid. I dont get a major gun mfg caving to anti gun pressure. I get that they are not a US company but dang if US civilian sales are not a major factor in their sales and sucess. it baffles me how gun manufacturers are so clueless about whats a gun rights issue.... how many designs is Glock going to drop everytime someone mods their gun?
Clones will continue and their profit will go up. As patents run out others will fill the gap.I think clone makers like Ruger will just tell states like CA to F off and just not sell their products there.
Glock is more or less, a one trick pony. A Glock is a Glock is a Glock - not a whole lot of difference between the various models.Yet Smith and Wesson and Ruger are still doing just fine. Glock will be the same….. as long as they don't Cali every version.
Same goes for every other gun company. All I am saying is Glock will continue.Glock is more or less, a one trick pony. A Glock is a Glock is a Glock - not a whole lot of difference between the various models.
They will keep the LEO market, and whatever military contracts/etc. that they have, and there will be some who don't care (or know) about the changes, but they will lose some number of buyers who will take offense at their caving in.
Don't you just love free market capitalism?Hey all I have to do is sell 1 rare, discontinued, minty gen 4 19 at that price and all my glocks will be free to me!!

Just like it did with Ruger, S&W, Colt and currently SIG and Glock. Nothing new. Businesses make decisions and deal with the benefits or the consequences of those decisions. It's capitalism.I am sure they will. But it will hurt them in the short term (which is what I said).
