Rolling into 2026-

Any goals that you wanna meet in regards to shooting or training?

Shooting out to a certain distance?
Beating a certain drill?
Completing a challenge?
Passing a task in a certain amount of time?
Attending specific training courses?
Reaching a certain level in competition?
Making it to the range on a more regular basis?
Start reloading?
Self defense training/BJJ/fighting?
Medical courses?

Let's hear it! Goals are good and will continue to push us to become better if we take them seriously.

My goal for 2026 is to get to the range a half dozen times and to shoot some squeaks in the fields this spring. I was super busy the last three years and put shooting and hunting on the back burner. I'm retired now, working part time, and want to shoot more. The wife wants to keep up with her shooting as well. I have a young colt taking up my time and money currently so I hope I can meet my goals.

Preferably not let my job screw up my range time anymore. That's about my only goal. The incompetent, needy boobs I work with could ruin a wet dream and I get to suffer the consequences of their actions. Project bare minimum.... ASSEMBLE

You work for the government?
Sort of. Lots of government contracts so we play by government rules. Especially the stupid ones because for whatever reason it gets us more contracts. Or whatever dribble comes out of Management's cake hole that given Tuesday

Renewed our outdoor club membership today, missed the earlier reminder email. Thankfully they sent out another one & I saw it!!

That could have been a pretty goodly ooopsie-doodle, requiring redoing club orientation etc etc.

Crisis averted, situation normale'...

I let my tri-county membership expire this year. Waited so long to get in and once I had it I really disliked shooting there so I let it go. Opening a spot for someone who hopefully will enjoy it. No reason to pay for something I won't use.

My goal is just consistent range trips and practice of varying kinds. Too many years I just didn't get out shooting much, but over the last few months I've been getting out to the range frequently and making good progress, and I plan to keep that up. I may also try to take another defensive handgun course as well, depending how things go, but regular range trips are my main goal.

Probably shooting more in general. When I lived in western Oregon, there was tons of public lands to shoot on so I would go out every 2-3 months and spend the day practicing. Now that I'm in the east, public lands are far less common and it makes it all that much harder to go shooting. There's a few patches of public land near me but its not at all suitable for shooting because it lacks a decent backstop. Besides my annual qualification for work, I think I've only gone out to shoot twice in the two years I've lived on this side of the state. Hoping to find some places to shoot in 2026 and start going more often.

Besides that, I really want to attend a Thunder Ranch course this year. Unfortunately Clint announced his retirement a few weeks ago but I'm certain that his cadre will teach just as good of a class.
