So got some spare money laying around need a new toy so what the new hot item these days?
Or whats the cool gun every one needs? Im looking at under $1500 buck with optics and something that dont cost and arm and leg to shoot.

A few I'd suggest for your requirements and price range -
Ruger Gunsight Scout
Savage 10 Series
An AR chambered in 308/ 7.62
Mossberg MVP in 308

You could always find a reasonable, used Remington 700, drop it into a aftermarket stock and spend the remainder on a nice scope. Good optics cost a lot, more than your rifle.

Maybe a Mosin? Cheap, Cheap Ammo, Good deer rifle, OK for target shooting...
