Hello Forum - I am Everett. I am not from Everett, but from Eugene. Born and raised in SE Portland (felony flats). Spent time in Happy Valley and Oregon City. Landed in Eugene. A bit over a decade in the Army, but only recently got the pewpew bug (almost 6 years after last putting on boots). That to say, I have significant experience with firearms, but almost all of it was vocational necessity and not for the love of the game.

Really just getting into things as a hobbyist. Not a hunter, or likely to become one. More of a pistol guy than a rifle guy at this point, though I'd be hard pressed to say why. ARs are neat (I guess) but I struggle to imagine what I would do with one. A reasonable follow-up question would be "what are you going to do with a pistol(?)," but I will simply reject and ignore that question the same way I did when my wife asked it. Getting set up right now (along with my bestie LEO buddy) to drop-in to IDPA / USPSA competition (almost certainly Carry Optics), just because it sounds fun. I am slow and can barely group on a target, but I figure you gotta start somewhere.

Mostly been shooting at McGowan Creek and Panther. Getting initiated at Izaak Walton this coming weekend (as it's VERY close to me).

Current Firearms:
  • Bodyguard 2.0 (bone stock; daily carry)
  • Glock 17, gen 4 (this was my first pistol, and the one I will use for competition; getting slide-cut at Wager right now)
  • Smith 4516 (my newest acquisition; heavy and absurd but freaking awesome)
  • Blued Star BM (ugly as sin, rode hard and put away wet, and on which I have installed mismatched OEM faux pearl grips; shoots pretty well, but I have a full set of springs incoming that I am going to attempt to install myself)
  • Hi Standard Sport King (I need a magazine for this one as I only have the one it came with, which won't feed; I recently learned this is a third-party magazine issue, so I need to find one with the right green on the follower)
  • Ruger 10/22 (bone stock, which is to say that it has a wood (and not bone) stock)
  • My great grandpa's Model 12 and Model 1200 (both beautiful, but with old soft steel barrels; I haven't fired either very much at all; the Model 12 is currently locked up, and I need to get it to a smith to take a look at it)
