I guess it all depends on how the barrel locks up to the receiver.
At one time I owned a Stevens Favorite 1915 , that had been re-barreled with a 10/22 barrel.
While maybe not "match" grade accurate , it did a number on tin cans , grouse , shell cases etc ...
I had a Browning takedown .22 that was pretty good as well.

Take downs are a neat idea , glad someone is keeping them alive.
