I just bought a Savage 111 in 300 win mag with detchable box magazine but I don't like the light synthetic stock. Where can I go to get a nice wood stock for it? I have looked on gun broker and at Hogue's site and accuaracy international but none of them had the model I needed. Anybody here in Oregon build nice stocks?

cant think of the name but theres a place on powell that had a boatload of stocks and another place in ne or se that makes custom exotic stocks, unfortunately, i was there only once and dont remember where it is. maybe the phone book?

Thanks guys.

RK, I looked through the links and that rifel-stocks link looks the best. The only down side is that the stocks are not finished, ie sanded and clearcoated.

Thanks for the idea probasco I was thinking that there was a place in Portland too. I'll hit the yellow book on the internet as I don't live in portland so no access to its volumes.

Hi,

Check out Stocky's Gunstocks http://www.stockysstocks.com/ I've used a lot of his laminated stocks, finnished and unfinnished. Check out the Long Range Sporter and Long Range Varminter stocks. Awesome!

Catch you later,
