Does it no longer make things not dark anymore?

I don't see a reason to replace it just for the sake of replacing it.

After some researching Tenicor makes one that doesn't use the light to retain so I can use any light I want.

They make a FDE one, which is pretty nice. Costs more than the black one too, so it must be better.

Figure out which light you want first, and then...before you buy the light...check and see if you can find a holster that you like for it. There are tons of great lights out there but once you move beyond Surefire and a couple of the TLR's, holsters start getting really scarce, really fast. There's just way too many lights for the holster makers to keep up with.

Nothing wrong with replacing a 7 year old light, they have taken some pretty significant technological leaps in that time.

Might want to hold out for the Cloud Defense EPL, it looks pretty promising and finally appears to be right around the corner on a release date. I was thinking of getting a Modlite because that's what most of my lights are but for the pistol I think I'll be replacing my SF with a CD.
